Description

Composition:

The active substances are:
Sodium alginate. 500mg
Sodium bicarbonate. 267mg
For a 10 ml sachet.
The other components are:
Calcium carbonate, 974P carbomer, sodium saccharin, peppermint essential oil, sodium hydroxide, sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), sodium propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), purified water.

Important information about some of the ingredients:
Maalox Reflux Sugar-free / Mint flavor contains sodium, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218) and propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216).

Dosage:

Adults, including the elderly, and children over 12 years old: 1 sachet 3 times a day, after the 3 main meals and possibly at bedtime.
This dosage can be doubled in case of severe reflux or esophageal inflammation.

Method and frequency of administration:

• Oral use.
• Mix the sachet well before opening.
• This medication can be taken after meals.

Duration of treatment:
If there is no improvement in symptoms after seven days, the clinical situation should be reconsidered.

Precaution for use:

If you forget to take Maalox Reflux: Do not take a double dose to make up for the dose you forgot to take.

Never take Maalox Reflux: If you are allergic to any of the constituents, as skin irritations and breathing difficulties have been reported.

If in doubt, it is essential to seek the advice of your doctor or pharmacist.

Warnings and precautions for use:

• Keep this medication out of the reach and sight of children.
• This treatment may be less effective if you have low stomach acid.
• This medicine contains propyl parahydroxybenzoate and methyl parahydroxybenzoate and may cause allergic reactions.
• Please consult your doctor before taking this medicine, if you have been asked to follow a low sodium diet especially if you have heart failure.
• This medicine contains sodium.
• This medicine contains 6 mmol (or 138 mg) sodium per sachet. To be taken into account in patients monitoring their dietary sodium intake.
• If in doubt do not hesitate to seek the advice of your doctor or pharmacist.

Other medicines and Maalox Reflux Antacids can decrease the effect of many other drugs. As a precaution, you should space out the 2 hour intake between the antacid and another drug.
If you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription, tell your doctor or pharmacist.

Pregnancy and breast feeding:
This medication can be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, if necessary.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.
